Bishop Jean-Michaël Durhône calls on Prime Minister Jugnauth

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Bishop for Port-Louis Diocese, Father Jean-Michaël Durhône, accompanied by Cardinal Maurice E. Piat, paid a courtesy call, today, on the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.

In a statement, Father Durhône highlighted that his first meeting with the Prime Minister was cordial and was an opportunity to focus on the excellent relation that exists between the Diocese and the Government, which is based on mutual respect.

He also reassured that the Diocese looks forward to further collaborate with Government for the well-being of the population. Furthermore, Father Durhône observed that emphasis must be laid both on our youth and their education, so that they develop good values so as to be responsible adults of tomorrow.

It is recalled that Father Durhône has previously served in various positions, including Vicar of St Louis Cathedral of Port-Louis Diocese; Diocesan Chaplain of the Young Christian Workers Movement; and Diocesan Head of Catechesis.
