Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has yet again appointed GFF Executive Committee Member John Frank Mendy as Referee Assessor in the CAF Champions League preliminary round match between RS Berkane (Morocco) and ASCK (Togo).
The match is scheduled for 27th September 2025, at Stade Municipal de Berkane, Morocco at 2100hrs.
Mendy, who is a retired FIFA referee, will have an all inclusive panel of referees from Guinea to be headed by Yonoussa Tawel Camara as central referee, and to be assisted by Yamoussa Syla, and Moussa Traore while Daoda Camara will serve as the fourth official. Bekaye Sidi Magassa from Mali will serve as Match Commissioner.
Meanwhile, in Gambia’s quest to promote women’s football in line with National Football Development Plan, Head Coach of the Gambia Women’s National Team, Mariama Sowe is currently in Rabat, Morocco, undergoing a FIFA Female Coach Educators’ Development Pathway workshop.
Coach Sowe is amongst only 20 out of the 52 participants to make it to the onsite workshop due to her outstanding performance during the online training of the program.
The course, which is part of the FIFA Women’s Football Development & Coaching Development, started on 15th September and will end on Friday, 19th September 2025, in Rabat.
