CAF Reviews Pirates Complaints as Lupopo Files Case

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) is currently reviewing three separate cases submitted by South African giants Orlando Pirates, even as the club faces new allegations from Congolese side Saint-Eloi Lupopo.

According to sources, the three complaints lodged by Pirates remain under examination, with details yet to be disclosed publicly. The cases are believed to relate to incidents that occurred during their recent CAF Confederation Cup fixtures, as the Buccaneers seek redress over what they describe as irregularities affecting the integrity of competition.

However, in a twist of events, Saint-Eloi Lupopo have officially filed a complaint against Pirates, accusing them of unprofessional conduct during their recent meeting. The Congolese club alleges that their players were subjected to physical aggression and that a “toxic substance” was sprayed in their dressing room before kickoff.

CAF has acknowledged receipt of Lupopo’s complaint and is expected to open an investigation to verify the claims. The governing body has reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on any form of misconduct or intimidation within its competitions and has promised to ensure due process is followed.

Both clubs remain under scrutiny as CAF works to establish the facts and determine any necessary disciplinary measures. The unfolding situation adds a tense subplot to what has already been a fiercely competitive CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
