Africa-Press – Mauritius. In a potent testament to the growth and acceptance of women’s football throughout the African continent, the Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) has presented a new trophy for the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024.
The new design is more than just a piece of cutlery; it is a celebration of equality, unity, and excellence, and it was inspired directly by the legendary Men’s TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations trophy.
In order to advance and expand women’s football in Africa and place African women’s football among the finest in the world, CAF leadership has launched the new prize.
In Casablanca, Morocco, CAF and long-time partner TotalEnergies organised a celebration on Wednesday night to honour the new trophy.
Identical petals spiralling upward, each representing a participating national team, make up the trophy’s eye-catching design.
When combined, they create the shape of a blossoming flower, which is a classic representation of development, strength, and beauty.
The journey of African women’s football and the dynamic vigour of its players are shown in this image.
A golden sphere with a faint football-like pattern emerges from the centre of this exquisite flower shape.
In the women’s game, the sphere, which is adorned with a gleaming gold map of Africa, symbolises the continent’s pride, ambition, and worldwide influence.
The trophy’s body is encircled by a gold ring etched with the CAF insignia and is crafted in sparkling silver and matte gold, demonstrating the confederation’s unwavering dedication to advancing the women’s game across its 54 member associations.
The competition’s name is displayed in sophisticated matte gold lettering on the base, a spotless white marble pedestal with exquisite gold-accented stripes, solidifying the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations’ place in the rich history of African sport.
This new trophy will act as a beacon of aspiration, encouraging millions of young girls throughout the continent to dream, believe, and succeed on the international scene as the next generation of African stars get ready to shine at the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024.
