Africa-Press – Mauritius. Canadian company TransPod has revealed its intention to develop an all-electric train that can reach 1,000 kilometers per hour at affordable prices. The “FluxJet” was announced by the company in Toronto, Canada, through a small version that allowed to demonstrate live the capabilities that the vehicle will have.

According to CNN, the train will travel at ultra-fast speeds along a track that will be a vacuum tube and which protects the vehicle, allowing it to travel at high speed through a new field of physics called “surveillance flow”.

capsules, will be levitated magnetically. The first phase of this infrastructure project, worth 18 billion euros, will be the connection between the Canadian cities of Calgary and Edmonton, which are located around 300 kilometers apart.

TransPod co-founder and CEO Sebastien Gendron revealed that “the first phase of construction consists of the Edmonton Airport connection, which is planned to start in late 2023, and the complete line connecting Calgary to Edmonton in 2027.

According to Gendron, this train will have a capacity for 54 passengers and 10 tons of cargo, with trips every two minutes.

Earlier this year, TransPod announced that, so far, it has secured funding of 550 million euros to invest in this idea, which is in the research and development phase, with concerns about environmental assessment and land acquisition. The company’s idea is for the train to operate exclusively on a network system dubbed the TransPod Line with stations in major cities and locations.
