Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Chargé d’Affaires of the U. S Embassy in Mauritius, Ms Judes E. DeBaere, paid a courtesy call, today, on the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Alan Ganoo, in Port Louis.
In a statement after the meeting, Ms DeBaere highlighted that discussions were very cordial and fruitful. Topics discussed, she said, focused on vaccine donation, the vaccine situation in the country, quarantine measures, free trade agreement between the two countries, the visa situation, and the grey listing.
As regards the COVID-19 vaccination programme, the Chargé d’Affaires underlined that Mauritius is one of the countries which has a good vaccination system of its citizens.
She further expressed satisfaction to be part of the Mauritian diplomatic community. Ms Judes E. DeBaere assumed her duties as Deputy Chief of Mission in Mauritius in June 2019.
She served previously in Oman as Management Officer and Abu Dhabi as Management Counsellor. Prior to that, she was Chief of Protocol to Ambassadors in Iraq and served as Management Officer in Burundi and Italy.
