CJSOI Games 2022: Minister Toussaint satisfied of the ongoing preparation at competition sites

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Mr Jean Christophe Stephan Toussaint, carried out a site visit of all the competition sites of the Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Ocean Indien Games (CJSOI) 2022, yesterday, along with members of the Organising Committee.

The sites for the Games are namely: the Côte D’Or National Sports Complex; the National Table Tennis Centre in Beau Bassin; Phoenix Gymnasium; the National Centre of Boxing in Vacoas; the National Weightlifting Centre in Vacoas; the Blue Bay Arena; and the Pointe Jerome Youth Training Centre in Mahebourg.

In a statement, the Sports Minister recalled that the Games, which will be hosted by Mauritius from 04 to 11 December 2022, will kickstart in 40 days.

It is thus important at this stage to take stock of the preparation being made on the various sites to ensure that all the necessary infrastructure are in place, he stressed.

Mr Stephan Toussaint expressed satisfaction as regards the works that have been undertaken on the competition sites and underlined that the organisation of the event is being made with due diligence and professionalism.

He reassured that all the infrastructure required has been arranged for and that the country is ready to host the Games. Besides, Minister Toussaint informed that along with Mauritius, countries including Mayotte, Djibouti, Reunion Island, and Seychelles have already confirmed their participation.
