CJSOI Games: Minister of Youth, Sports and Family of Seychelles on four-day visit in Mauritius

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Minister of Youth, Sports and Family of Seychelles, Mrs Marie-Celine Zialor, reached Mauritius, this morning, for a four-day mission in the country, in her capacity as President of the Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien (CJSOI).

Mrs Marie-Celine Zialor and her four-member delegation, were welcomed at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Mr Jean Christophe Stephan Toussaint, and the Secretary-General of the CJSOI, Mr A.

Cheetamun. In a statement, Minister Toussaint highlighted that he welcomed the visit of the Minister Marie-Celine Zialor adding that it is an opportune time for both parties to get acquainted to each other as they will undertake various joint collaborations.

He indicated that the Minister’s visit to the country is being held in the context of the holding of the 12th edition of the CJSOI Games in Mauritius next year.

During the visit, the delegation from Seychelles will be able to take stock of the progress made as regards the preparations undertaken, he said. Minister Toussaint pointed out that various site visits have been planned in different sites where the Games will he held.

In addition, the Sports Minister affirmed that the visit is an opportunity to reinforce the friendly ties and brotherhood anchored in the relations of Mauritius and Seychelles.

As for Minister Marie-Celine Zialor, she underlined that she was pleased in her capacity as President of the CJSOI to meet Sports Minister, Mr Stephan Toussaint, and the Secretary-General of the CJSOI, Mr A.

Cheetamun. This is essentially a familiarisation visit and at the same time we will endeavour to discuss the future of the CJSOI, she said. She further underpinned her intent to raise the standards of the Games for all sports activities, in particular, those related to the youth component.

The Minister also dwelt on her objective of triggering more collaboration among the youths of the Indian Ocean and reinforcing support for the organisation of the Games .

Furthermore, Minister Marie-Celine Zialor spoke about strengthening the existing partnership and solidarity between the two countries, especially in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
