Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Mr Stephan Toussaint, invited the population to come and support the young Mauritian athletes, aged between 14 and 17 years old, during the 12th edition of the Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien (CJSOI) Games, to be held from 4 to 11 December 2022.
He was speaking, yesterday, at a press meet at the Côte d’Or National Sports Complex. Minister Toussaint underlined that the public would have free access to the stadiums to attend all the competitions.
The Sports Minister indicated that Mauritius had only five months to prepare for the Games. He expressed satisfaction as regards the preparations for the country to host the Games which, he stressed, had been made with due diligence and professionalism.
“Mauritius is all set to carry out the Games in the best possible conditions,” he stated.
On the occasion, the Organising Committee of the Games proceeded with the presentation of the sports and the protocol wear for the competition. It is to be noted that the opening and closing ceremonies will be only by invitation.
