Digital Economy: Reinforcement of bilateral ties between Rwanda and Mauritius

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The reinforcement of bilateral ties with the aim to build capabilities for digital economy and cybersecurity in the spaces of data protection, were discussed, yesterday, in Port-Louis, by the Minister of ICT and Innovation of the Republic of Rwanda, Ms Paula Ingabire, and the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Alan Ganoo.

Minister Ganoo, actually, received Minister Ingabire for a courtesy call at the seat of his Ministry. The Rwandan Minister was accompanied by her Mauritian counterpart, the Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, Mr Darsanand Balgobin.

In a statement, Minister Ingabire stated that she is in Mauritius on an invitation by the Government for the African Cyber Resilience Conference and that she also intends to use this opportunity to discuss the potential areas of cooperation in the fields of information communication technologies and innovation with the authorities.

Discussions with Minister Ganoo, she indicated, focused on promoting SMEs and start-ups, space technologies, and leveraging the existing national Post Offices with the objective to transform them so as to empower the logistics and e-commerce industries.
