Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Minister of International Trade, Export and Small Business of Canada, Mrs Mary NG met with Hon. Alan Ganoo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Régional Intégration and International Trade on Friday 12 November in Geneva.
They exchanged views on what could constitute elements of a successful outcome at the 12th Ministerial meeting of the World Trade Organisation scheduled for end of November.
Minister NG particularly sought support on a proposal from the Ottawa group on the response that could be provided by the WTO on the Pandemic and took interest in some suggestions made by Minister Ganoo on the issue of export restrictions.
They also discussed the pending request by Mauritius for the establishment of a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation and Partnership Agreement with Canada.
Canada had earlier this week at The Trade Policy Review of Mauritius, underscored , through the statement by Ambassador Stephen de Boer, the trade openness of Mauritius and its continued efforts to facilitate business.
