Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Ambassador of France to Mauritius, Mr Frédéric Bontems, paid a courtesy call, today, on the Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Marie Cyril Eddy Boissézon, at his Office in Quatre Bornes.
In a statement following the meeting, Mr Bontems highlighted the significance of the Franco-Mauritian relationship, describing it as an excellent and trusting alliance founded on mutual respect.
Discussions, he stated, delved into diverse aspects, including perspectives on the Mauritian economy, the evolving dynamics of the Franco-Mauritian relationship, and the challenges faced by the Indian Ocean region.
These challenges, according to him, range from climate change to biodiversity issues and the imperative for economic adaptation. Mr Bontems observed that the conversation also focused on promising opportunities, particularly in collaborative efforts with France within the Indian Ocean context.
Additionally, he said that several topics were identified for future cooperation and indicate a positive outlook for collaborative endeavours. The meeting moreover aimed to address current challenges and lay the groundwork for future partnerships between the two nations, he added.
