High Commissioner of Botswana to Mauritius presents Letters of Credence to President Roopun

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The High Commissioner of the Republic of Botswana to Mauritius with Residence in Maputo, Miss Chandapiwa Nteta, presented her Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, today, at the State House in Réduit.

In a statement following the meeting, the High Commissioner indicated that both are committed to enhancing further the existing cordial bilateral relations between the two countries.

“We both recognised that there is a lot to be done in terms of deepening our relations and have agreed to work on some mechanisms in this regard,” she stated. High Commissioner Nteta, further, highlighted that there are several Memoranda of Understanding that are outstanding and need to be looked into.

In this context, a list of mechanisms that will allow further collaboration as well as to conclude discussions that have already started, needs to be established, she pointed out.

High Commissioner Nteta has served in the Ministry of International Affairs and Cooperation in various capacities both at headquarters and in Missions, namely as: Deputy Chief of Protocol from November 2015 to December 2018; Counsellor and Head of Chancery of the Botswana Embassy in Ethiopia from February 2014 to October 2015 and; Assistant Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from January 2009 to January 2014.
