Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Ministry of Arts and Cultural Heritage welcomed, yesterday, the artist and gold medalist in the Photography discipline at the 9th edition of the Jeux de la Francophonie, Miss Melisa Mary Dayle Madanamootoo, at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, in Plaisance.

The Jeux de la Francophonie was held in the Democratic Republic of Congo from 28 July 2023 to 06 August 2023. Mauritius finished seventh with six gold medals, including the cultural medal won by Miss Madanamootoo in Photography.

About the artist Miss Melissa Mary Dayle Madanamootoo is an artist of 31 years old who has studied Interior Architecture at Nottingham Trent University in Nottingham.

She further pursued a Master’s degree in Illustration at the London Metropolitan University in London with a goal to convey emotions through visuals. After her return to Mauritius, she has been working as a self-employed artist in the field of architecture and visual art.
