Africa-Press – Mauritius. Chelsea have turned to Liam Rosenior to launch a new era after ending their collaboration with Enzo Maresca.
The Blues moved quickly at the start of January, as tensions had grown between the board and the Italian coach following several public statements and persistent rumors linking him to Manchester City.
Chelsea’s hierarchy identified Rosenior as the ideal profile to embody their long-term sporting project and convinced him to leave Strasbourg and return to England. Arriving quietly at Strasbourg in the summer of 2024, Rosenior delivered impressive results in a short time.
He guided Racing Club to seventh place in Ligue 1 during the 2024–2025 season, secured qualification for the Europa Conference League, and topped the group stage to reach the round of 16 directly.
Those performances convinced BlueCo, shareholder in both clubs, that Rosenior possessed the vision and leadership Chelsea were seeking. After his final match with Strasbourg against Nice, the 41-year-old coach officially committed his future to the London club.
Chelsea announced that Rosenior signed a contract running until 2032, entrusting him with a major challenge in both the Premier League and European competition. The task is demanding, but Chelsea clearly believe Rosenior is ready to take the next step and establish himself at the highest level.
