Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Italian club Atalanta has officially released its squad for the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League group stage, which kicks off later this month.

One of the notable inclusions is Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman, whose future had been the subject of heavy speculation during the summer transfer window. Contrary to earlier reports, no move to the Turkish Super League was ever considered an option for the 26-year-old.

In the final 48 hours of the transfer window, Bayern Munich approached Atalanta with a loan proposal that included an option to buy, but the Serie A side swiftly dismissed the offer. Lookman also came very close to joining Inter Milan, who went as far as submitting an official bid. However, Atalanta resisted all advances, reaffirming their commitment to keeping the winger as a key part of their European campaign.

Lookman, who played a pivotal role in Atalanta’s success last season, will now turn his focus to helping La Dea navigate a challenging Champions League group stage as they aim to build on their recent domestic and continental progress.
