The 24th International Convention on Student Quality Circles which is being hosted in Mauritius from the 25-26th July 2023, was launched this morning in presence of the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, at the Collège du Saint Esprit in Quatre-Bornes.
In his keynote speech, President Roopun welcomed all students of the participating countries including Australia, India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Mauritius, and commended the holding of the convention which he qualified as an important event providing young students with a platform to develop soft skills such as creativity, problem-solving, communication skills, team spirit and leadership that will enrich their personality.
He emphasised that the students will be able to debate and share their views on the theme of this year’s event, ‘Ensuring a Sustainable and Equitable future through Quality’, during these two days.
Furthermore, Mr Roopun pointed out that during the two-day Convention, the students will be able to participate in different competitions that seek to develop qualities that the adult of tomorrow will be called upon to have, namely a poster, slogan making and mathematics competition.
President Roopun underpinned the need of keeping a balance between the virtual world and remaining connecting to their physical environment as well as the need to develop multi-skills to be able to navigate through challenges and changes in their life.
