Africa-Press – Mauritius. The High Commissioner of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, with residence in Maputo, Mozambique and accredited to Mauritius, Mr Mohammed Musa Yamah, called on the Minister of Land Transport and Light Rail, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Mr Alan Ganoo, this afternoon, in Port-Louis.
In a statement after the meeting, the High Commissioner highlighted that the meeting with Minister Ganoo was very fruitful and cordial. Apart from accentuating the excellent bilateral relationships that both countries share, the focus of the meeting was also on the education that Nigerian youngsters studying in Mauritius benefit from, he indicated.
On this score, he lauded the education sector of Mauritius, as according to him, the students are very satisfied with the level and find no difficulty to secure a job once back in Nigeria. Discussions also pertained to the possibilities of expanding investment between the business people of Nigeria and Mauritius.
On this note, he informed that he had a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of the Economic Development Board, Mr Ken Poonoosamy, this morning, as regards investment in Nigeria given that Mauritius has been excelling on the list for ease of doing business.
The High Commissioner underscored the mutual support which both countries extend to each other at the level of international organisations and reiterated his support to Mauritius as regards the sovereignty dispute for the Chagos Archipelago.
