Africa-Press – Mauritius. A meeting was convened, this morning, at the Citizens Advice Bureau of Plaine Magnien to seek solutions for the recent flooding which occurred in that region.
The Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development, Mr Mahendranuth Sharma Hurreeram, presided the meeting which was attended by the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Mr Jean Christophe Stephan Toussaint, and the Member of Parliament, Mr Rameswar Doolub.
Several Technicians from the Ministry of National Infrastructure and Community Development, the Road Development Authority, the Land Drainage Authority, and members of District Councils, among others, also participated.
It is recalled that due to recent torrential rains, several houses were flooded at Residence Paul L’Anglois and Residence Bois d’Oiseaux, in Plaine Magnien, whereby the inhabitants suffered from severe material loss.
