Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Mr Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, accompanied by his delegation, met the Minister of Energy and Public Utilities, Mr Georges Pierre Lesjongard, yesterday, in Port Louis.
During his visit to Mauritius, he also called on the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun. Mr Al Nahyan was appointed by the Federal Government as Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs following a minor cabinet reshuffle at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in February 2021.
He has served as UAE Ambassador to Saudi Arabia since 2017 where he played a vital role in fostering and developing mutual relations, enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields, and supporting the common interests of people of the two brotherly countries.
Furthermore, Minister Al Nahyan served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2013-2014 and was also the President of the UAE Equestrian Federation in 2015-2016.
He previously worked at the Standard Chartered Bank in Abu Dhabi and Mubadala Investment Company in 2012 and interned at The National newspaper in 2011.
The UAE Minister of State holds a UAE Diplomacy and International Relations Postgraduate Diploma from the Emirates Diplomatic Academy and has graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Media from the Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi in 2012.
