Africa-Press – Mauritius. National awards were conferred to National Day Awardees by the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, in presence of the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, this afternoon, during an insignia ceremony held at the State House, in Réduit.
The Vice-President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr. Marie Cyril Eddy Boissezon, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Housing and Land Use Planning, Minister of Tourism, Mr.
Louis Steven Obeegadoo, and the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr Sooroojdev Phokeer, also graced the award ceremony. The National awards of the GRAND COMMANDER OF THE ORDER OF THE STAR AND KEY OF THE INDIAN OCEAN (GCSK) were conferred to:
Mr Paul S. Reicher for valuable contribution for the effective completion of the decolonisation process of Mauritius; and Mr Dheerujlall Baramlall Seetulsingh, SC, for valuable contribution in the field of human rights.
The National Awards were conferred to various personalities as follows: GRAND OFFICER OF THE ORDER OF THE STAR AND KEY OF THE INDIAN OCEAN (GOSK) Mr Joseph Gérard Angoh for significant contribution in the legal field; and
