The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, attended, today at Dukesbridge school in Trianon, a Flag Raising Ceremony in the context of the celebrations of the 55th anniversary of the Independence of Mauritius and the 31st anniversary of the country’s accession to the status of Republic.
On this occasion, the Flag of the Republic of Mauritius was hoisted to top mast while all those present sang the National Anthem. Addressing the students, President Roopun reminded that the celebration of the Independence Day, also known as National Day, is an important event for any country.
He seized this opportunity to encourage students to focus on their studies and develop good habits such as punctuality, teamwork, and sharing. These qualities, he stated, will help students to become better citizens of the future.
