Navin Ramgoolam: We Spoke About The Future And They Talked About The Past

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The leaders of the Labour-MMM-New Democrats alliance faced the press on saturday morning. Navin Ramgoolam was the first to take the floor. He spoke about the troubles the alliance faced to organize its May Day meeting. He also spoke about the speech of Pravind Jugnauth. “Is it a speech from a Prime Minister? It contrasts totally from ours. We spoke about the future and the talked about the past,” he said.

Navin Ramgoolam also spoke about the 20 measures. He insisted that it is only a part of the electoral programme. “We do not have an overview of current financial situation of the state. However, we will find ways to finance our measures,” he underlined.

For him, after the May Day, the writings are now on the wall. “Our aim is to organize political activities in every constituency. We are also finalizing our list of candidates and we will celebrate together the arrival of immigrants on 2nd November at Antoinette in Rivière du Rempart,” he said.

Navin Ramgoolam also made an appeal to the Supreme Court to report the Sim Card case to after the next general elections. “We must do everything so that people believe in the way elections are organized in Mauritius,” he said.

Paul Bérenger also said that there will be more measures in the electoral manifesto of the alliance. He reiterated that they will not vote the Political Financing Bill. “It is a trap set up by the MSM for Navin Ramgoolam. We denounce this move. We will not vote this bill and they know it,” he said.

Paul Bérenger also associated himself with the appeal made by Navin Ramgoolam for the Sim Card case to be heard after general elections.
