Africa-Press – Mauritius. The pass rate for the National Certificate Education (NCE) assessment for the year 2021-2022, stands at 65.4%, representing 10 709 candidates. A total of 16 385 students from 153 Evaluation centres sat for the NCE Examinations 2021/22, out of which 8 124 were female students and 8 261 male students.

Among the candidates who have obtained the National Qualification Framework (NQF) Level 2, 5 718 (70.4%) are female candidates and 4 991 are male candidates (60.4%).

The figures were provided by the Director of the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES), Mrs Brenda Thanacoody Soborun, during a press conference on the overall performance of students, this afternoon, in Réduit. She also satisfaction as regards the improved performance in French and Art and Design but called for more effort in subjects including Mathematics.

She pointed out that students from the Extended Programme sat for the NCE assessment for the first time and announced that those who did not obtain the NQF 2 received a Statement of Attainment detailing their performance subject-wise.

Furthermore, she encouraged those who did not perform well to remain determined and strive for success through more hard work. As regards the correction exercise, she informed that it was conducted with diligence to ensure the reliability of the results obtained.

Pass rate As for Mauritius, 66.5% of students have obtained the NQF level 2, among whom 71.2% are female candidates and 61.7% male candidates. Rodrigues counts a success rate of 50.5% and Agalega 77.8%.

Moreover, a total of 667 students have obtained 8 aggregates, among whom 221 male candidates and 446 female candidates. Performance subject wise English-81.3%
