Africa-Press – Mauritius. The newly appointed Ambassador of Poland to Mauritius, Mr Mirosław Gojdź, presented, today, his Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, at the State House in Réduit.
In a statement following the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed that, during their exchange, both Poland and Mauritius mutually emphasised the importance of strengthening their bilateral ties.
He disclosed the Polish Government’s eagerness to engage with Mauritian partners in charting the course for enhancing this relationship. Mr Gojdź underlined the necessity of expanding the tourism sector and elevating Mauritius’ visibility among Polish tourists.
Highlighting that some 10 million Polish tourists embark on holidays annually, he expressed his aspiration to position Mauritius as one of their prime destinations.
Additionally, he emphasised the shared responsibility of both nations in supporting the Polish community and citizens visiting Mauritius. Moreover, the Polish Ambassador dwelt on the need for enhancing commercial relations, particularly in trade and the hotel industry.
He expressed optimism that this burgeoning relationship would not only boost trade within Mauritius but also extend to neighbouring countries such as Madagascar. He outlined the Polish Government’s proposal for fostering interaction between cities in both states at a municipal level.
He also announced the decision to establish working groups consisting of Ministers and scholars who will visit Mauritius for an exchange of knowledge and culture.
