NGOs to Join Board of National Drug Control Agency

Africa-Press – Mauritius. Six NGOs and a representative from the Ministry of Sports will join the board of directors of the future National Agency for Drug Control (NADC).

Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam will make these appointments after consultation, as announced by Deputy Prime Minister Paul Bérenger during parliamentary discussions focused on the bill creating the NADC on Tuesday, April 22nd.

The bill aims to establish the National Agency for Drug Control as the central organization for the prevention and control of drug use.

During his speech, Paul Bérenger also emphasized the essential role of municipalities and district councils in this fight.

The NADC is expected to coordinate efforts and implement strategies to address drug-related issues across the country.
