Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Mr Avinash Teeluck, launched, yesterday, the NishArts Studio of Mr Nishal Purbhoo at Petit Raffray. The studio will provide a space for interested local artists to showcase their artworks.
Two artists from Reunion Island namely, Mr Charly Lesquelin, a painting artist, and Mr David Nativel, a Metal sculptor, showcased their art pieces at the studio.
Minister Teeluck congratulated Mr Purbhoo for setting up the studio which will contribute to promote the creativity sector. He encouraged more such initiatives to continuously enhance visual arts in Mauritius.
The Minister also expressed the wish to work in collaboration with the two international artists with a view to creating a regional synergy in the field of arts.
Mr Purbhoo, for his part, spoke about the Arts Studio which according to him will serve as a platform to enhance the visibility of the works of local artists.
