Africa-Press – Mauritius. Rezistans ek Alternativ will be part of the’ alliance PTr-MMM-ND in the next general election. That’s what’a announced yesterday afternoon, Ashok Subron – who had Stephan Gua and David Sauvage by his side at the end of the sixth working session at River Walk.
« Never before have we seen such a popular craze for the conclusion of this alliance. There is a popular wish on the part of youth, women, workers for’a party like ReA to participate in such an alliance.
This deep desire was expressed by the representatives of ReA and by those of PTr and MMM », he said. This, before specifying that Navin Ramgoolam was accompanied by’Arvin Boolell, leader of the’ opposition, with the presence of Paul Berenger and’Ajay Guness.
Under the terms of the’accord, ReA will initially have two candidates, notably in constituencies 4 (Port-Louis Nord/Montagne-Longue) and 8 (Quartier-Militaire/Moka).
Ashok Subron will appear at No 4 while Babita Thannoo at No 8. « The PTr and the MMM have promised to do their utmost to ensure that Kugan Parapen is a candidate in the » elections, says Ashok Subron.
He adds that this’ is the first time that Babita Thannoo will present herself at legislative elections, but « she has great courage, a great spirit, a combative body, and it’is she who will oppose Pravind Jugnauth.
» At No 4, Ashok Subron explained that this N’ was not his first choice.
« J’ai a pinch in the heart because for the needs of’an electoral campaign I will separate from my friends of No 13. As a Fighter, we are ready to fight. We proposed four ridings for Kugan Parapen, including No 1, No 19, No 18 and No 16 », he said. E
j« Kugan Parapen as well as Stefan Gua and David Sauvage as well as other’ other activists are carriers of the vision represented by ReA. He’ is a brilliant economist, a brilliant intellectual, brilliant activist who was with us to remove the dams at Pomponette, for Wakashio and all the demonstrations.
C’ is a person who campaigns for convictions. Our concern is that the PTr and the MMM make the effort necessary to’align it on the » voters list, he understands.
ReA will now submit a program agreement at’a meeting next week. In addition, Ashok Subron announced that ReA will participate in the development of the governmental program of PTr-MMM-ND and ReA.
He renewed his vows regarding the’organization of a working day with the unions for the workers program and a working session with environmental associations and all people concerned about the’environment in order to set up an alliance as large as possible.
« An alliance that incorporates the wishes and aspirations of workers, environmentalists, women, fishermen, small planters and all small artisans in order to kick this government out of power », he says.
In response to questions regarding the community declaration, the ReA leader noted that it will be a matter of personal’order. « We think this election should be the last of its kind during which a citizen of this country running for election is forced to classify himself in a community »,explains.
Ashok Subron also paid tribute to David Sauvage – who refused to position himself as a candidate in order to give way to a woman. « We are in a historical moment and c’is the greatest hope.
Many young people who are disgusted with politics need to know that ReA wants qualitative change. The thousands of young people we met on various occasions, our mauricianism, our multiple and indivisible humanity will be able to move for us to deal with the ecological crisis », he says.

« This election is a referendum as was the case for the 1967 elections. Today’, we talk about the law of nature in the Constitution.
It’s been five years since this government violates the wetlands and nature » , says David Sauvage. He made an appeal by the same : « Now we want the citizens of this country to act as a guardian of the natural heritage.
Gone is this deadly paradigm that makes youth have to leave the country and look for a better future abroad. His future lies in Mauritius. »For his part, Stefan Gua pointed out that even if ReA members find themselves in Parliament, the struggle for workers will normally continue through party bodies.
