Africa-Press – Mauritius. Mauritius is pleased to acknowledge the long-standing and precious support of the World Health Organization (WHO), stated, today, the Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, in his message on the occasion of the celebrations of the WHO’s 75th anniversary.
PM Jugnauth highlighted that the WHO has been consistently attentive and responsive to our country’s calls for assistance. Our partnership, he observed, was remarkably effective during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As Health is a topmost priority in the development strategy of Mauritius, the Prime Minister commended the role played by the WHO in mobilising world attention towards current and emerging health issues and in managing health crises.
He also seized this opportunity to salute the leadership of the Director General of the WHO, Dr Tedros Ghebreyesus, and the commitment of his dedicated secretariat.
