PM Jugnauth evokes vision of Mauritius pharmaceutical industry to explore Africa

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The Prime Minister, M. Pravind Jugnauth, intervened on Wednesday 20 April 2022 at the opening of the Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit 2022 which is currently taking place in Gandhi Nagar in Gujarat.

The Prime Minister’s focus on Mauritius’s vision is to place a pharmaceutical industry to serve the African continent. The inauguration ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, and the Director General of the World Organization of Santé (OMS), Dr.

Tedros Ghebreyesus. The Minister of AYUSH and Ports, Shipping and Waterways, M. Sarbananda Sonowal, and M. Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, are currently present at this function.

It aims to mobilize investments and promote innovation, regulation and transfer of knowledge in the AYUSH treatment system (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy).

It does not take into account the world of science, political decisions, entrepreneurs and start-ups to develop the strands of traditional Indian medicine.

Prime Minister Jugnauth invited participants to explore opportunities for collaboration in the Mauritius pharmacy and biotechnology sectors. These sectors benefit from the apparatus of governance within the framework of an economically diversified, t he rapprochement strategy.

M. Pravind Jugnauth reaffirms the willingness of the Mauritanian government to encourage alternative medicine in Mauritius by noting the construction of an AYUSH hospital in Côte d’Or with the support of the Indian government.

Ayurvedic soils are practically remotely practiced in Mauritius, next to the Prime Minister. Traditional medicine is complementary to scientific medicine and represents a means of preventing malignancies and adopting a mode of healing.

The Prime Minister, M. Pravind Jugnauth, took part in the opening ceremony of the WHO Global Center for Traditional Medicine (GCTM) in Jamnagar, Gujarat, on 19 April 2022.
