Africa-Press – Mauritius. The newly appointed Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Mauritius, Mr Liying Zhu, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr Prithvirajsing Roopun, this afternoon, at the State House, in Réduit.
In a statement following the meeting, the Ambassador conveyed the good wishes of the Chinese Government and that of the President of the People’s Republic of China and emphasised the friendly relations that exist between Mauritius and China.
The Chinese Ambassador highlighted that one of his main priorities will be to ensure the strengthening of cooperation between both countries in various spheres, namely: political, economic, cultural, sports, tourism, and education. He expressed his intent to work in close collaboration with the media in Mauritius so as to help facilitate the dissemination of joint venture projects between the two countries.
Mr Zhu has served as Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Republic of Mali from 2018 to date and was also appointed General Consulate of China from 2016 to 2018, in Marseille, France.
