President Roopun attends 23rd International Conference of Chief Justices of the World

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Mr. Prithvirajsing Roopun, is in Lucknow, India as Special Guest for the 23rd International Conference of Chief Justices of the World – Global Peace Congress 2022, organised by the City Montessori School, from 16 to 22 November 2022.

During the Inaugural Session held on Friday 18th November, the President was offered the ‘Mahatma Gandhi Award for World Unity’ by Honourable Shri Rajnath Singh, Defence Minister, Government of India for his support to City Montessori School children’s appeal for world unity and world peace.

The theme of the conference is ‘Uniting the World for Children through Enforceable World Law and Effective Global Governance’. On Saturday 19 November, President Roopun participated in the March for Peace with the delegates which was followed by the Opening Session of the Conference.

Addressing the audience, President Roopun emphasised that the Republic of Mauritius is committed to working with global leaders to develop a peaceful world and a sustainable future out of love and compassion for future generations in the spirit of India’s philosophy ‘Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam’- the whole world is one family.

It is to be noted that the kick off of the Conference was given in New Delhi on the 16th November.

During his stay in Delhi, the President and his spouse paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at the Raj Ghat. President Roopun also visited the Gurudwara Sri Bangla Sahib, Sikh temple in New Delhi.
