A new sub-office of the Road Development Authority (RDA), was inaugurated, today, in Helvetia in the presence of the Minister of National Infrastructure and Community Development, Mr Mahendranuth Sharma Hurreeram; the General manager of the RDA, Mr Nazeer Mowlabaccus; and other personalities.
In his address, Minister Hurreeram, indicated that Government caters for the welfare of human resources and ensures that officers work in the most favourable conditions.
He remarked that the existing sub-office in Helvetia was in a deplorable state representing a danger to the staff and the public. It was therefore important to construct a new office to cater to the well being of the staff and the general public, he said.
The Minister also called on the officers to do their work diligently and respond to public complaints in the most effective manner to ensure customer satisfaction while ensuring quality services. The RDA has eight sub offices across the island.
Its mission is to provide a cost-efficient mobility in comfort and safety for the Mauritian population and its economic operators to all parts of the island by developing, preserving and maintaining a high standard classified road network through judicious use of human resources.
The new sub-office of 200 m2 estimated to the tune of seven million rupees is public-friendly and easily accessible. It is equipped with a ramp to cater to the needs of the disabled and has a spacious parking.
