Africa-Press – Mauritius. South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation accused Israel on Friday of violating the International Court of Justice’s (ICJ) order to take measures to prevent genocide by attacking Palestinians awaiting humanitarian aid.
“South Africa condemns the massacre of 112 Palestinians and the injury of hundreds more as they sought life-saving aid,” South Africa stated.
“This latest atrocity is another breach of international law and in breach of the binding provisional orders of the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Earlier, Israel admitted firing at Palestinian civilians who surrounded a humanitarian aid truck, claiming they began to approach the soldiers in a way deemed dangerous, and later asserted its forces did not mean to kill hundreds of people but only to “disperse the mob with a few warning shots,” which resulted in the “unfortunate incident.”
