SAA keeps flights to Mauritius grounded

Africa-Press – Mauritius. This comes amid continued concerns about the rise in Covid-19 infections driven by the Omicron variant.

In a statement, SAA announced the travel ban would be extended by a month, with flights expected back in the skies at the start of February.

“Customers are advised that SA190/SA191 to and from Mauritius will be cancelled up to and including 31 January 2022,” said SAA.

“The extension of the travel ban by the Government of Mauritius is as a result of the new COVID-19 variant and is effective immediately.

While some travel bans have been relaxed throughout the world, some destinations are still off limits.

“SAA will continue to monitor the situation closely, always putting the health and safety of its customers first.
