The Seychelles Minister is presently leading a four-member delegation to Mauritius until 11 December 2021, in her capacity as President of the Commission de la Jeunesse et des Sports de l’Océan Indien (CJSOI).

She will have working sessions with relevant stakeholders and will effect site visits at venues and infrastructures identified for the 12th edition of the CJSOI Games which Mauritius will be hosting in December 2022.

In a statement after the courtesy call, Minister Toussaint deemed the meeting fruitful and highlighted the fraternal relations between Mauritius and Seychelles.

He said that discussions focused on commonalities between the two nations and the youth, in particular the way to empower young people so that they are able to face the future.

The Mauritian Sports Minister underlined that since there was now a better understanding of the COVID-19 situation and its management, it was time for youths of both Republics to meet on a more regular basis so as to learn from each other through the sharing of ideas, knowledge and experiences.

As for Minister Zialor, she stressed on the need to build cooperation among the young people of the two countries. She added that it was important to improve standards of youth works and activities across the Indian Ocean as well as to provide them with opportunities to improve their visibility and make their voices heard both at regional and international levels.
