South Africa makes urgent request to ICJ against Israel’s Rafah offensive

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The African nation made an urgent request to the World Court to intervene in the Gaza Strip to protect Palestinian People from further Israeli hostilities.

The International Court of Justice last month directed Israel to prevent its troops from committing genocide against Gazans, in a case filed by South Africa.

However, Israel said it respects international law but rejected the ruling on the grounds that it has a right to defend itself against Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.
