Anand Kumar, Super 30 founder on Wednesday was felicitated with an award by Mauritius President Prithivirajsing Roopun and Deputy Prime Minister Steven Obegadoo for his outstanding contribution to the education of the students from the underprivileged sections of the society.
After getting the award in Mauritius, Anand Kumar said, “It is a great feeling to be amongst own people and get recognition. It feels like a home away from home. It is a big motivation to carry on with great zeal. I am thankful to the Mauritius President and Deputy PM for coming all the way to encourage me.
The Super 30 programme achieved wide recognition and led to the making of several documentaries, features in national and international media like BBC, Discovery, NHV, Deench 24, Time and Newsweek magazine and a biopic on Anand Kumar’s life and ‘Super 30’, starring Hrithik Roshan.
Many dignitaries, like former US President Barack Obama’s special envoy Rashad Hussain, also visited Super 30. On his film’s success, Anand earlier said, “Though I hail from Bihar and worked there to contribute my mite for the students, the film was made tax free in eight Indian states due to its powerful messaging.
Super 30 founder was conferred the prestigious Padam Shri in 2023 and received several awards, including Bihar’s highest award in the field of education, the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Shiksha Puruskar.
