Africa-Press – Mauritius. 01 June to 11 June 2023 at La Citadelle in Port Louis. The Minister of Arts and Cultural Heritage, Mr Avinash Teeluck, and other personalities were present on the occasion.

The exhibition aims to become an essential gathering point for the Mauritian art scene and endeavours to play an important role in promoting a nurturing environment for both emerging and established artists.

This inaugural edition showcases the talent of 84 Mauritian visual artists alongside 10 regional artists namely from the Republic of Seychelles, the Union of the Comoros, and Rodrigues.

For this edition, the historical site of La Citadelle will host a digital art exhibition centered around the concept of the spectrum where technology will serve as a conduit for creativity, urging the public to contemplate its significance within a hyperconnected global landscape.

The Mauritius Arts Expo will also bring together artists with a wide range of styles and mediums and serve as a dynamic platform that encapsulates the intricacies and diversity of visual culture in the Indian Ocean region.

Moreover, the exhibition will cover a wide spectrum of themes and techniques, each exposed in a unique way and varying from paintings to sculptures, printmaking to photography, and art installation to video art. Each artwork on display contributes its unique essence, collectively painting a dynamic and engaging portrait of contemporary art.
