Africa-Press – Mauritius. Juventus announced on Friday that Igor Tudor has agreed to a new deal that would keep the Croatian coach in Turin for an additional two seasons.
Tudor “will lead the men’s first team until June 30, 2027, with an option to extend by another year until June 30, 2028,” according to a statement from Juventus.
Earlier this week, Tudor, 47, was confirmed to remain coach by Juventus’ new general manager Damien Comolli after the team was unable to sign Antonio Conte from Serie A winners Napoli.
Juventus has pressed for the return of club legend Conte, who led the Turin giants to three consecutive league victories from 2011 to 2014.
Juve chose to stick with Tudor, who took Thiago Motta’s position after he was fired in March and led the team to the Champions League the following season, while Conte chose to remain at Napoli and defend the Scudetto.
Tudor will captain Juventus at the forthcoming Club World Cup in the USA, where the Italian team will play in the group stage against Manchester City, Wydad AC, and Al Ain.
Less than three weeks after the conclusion of the previous season, Juventus made a number of changes, making them one of the few Serie A teams to remain with their coach.
