Africa-Press – Mauritius. Two accidents involving a pedestrian and a motorcyclist were recorded in Vacoas and Phoenix respectively on Friday April 19. The 43-year-old pedestrian was hit by a motorcycle that failed to stop in Quinze Cantons, Vacoas.

The 40-year-old was placed on artificial respiration at Victoria Hospital, Candos. In Palmerstone, Phoenix, a van collided with a motorcyclist. The 49-year-old Highlands resident was admitted to Candos Hospital.

At 11:20 a. m. on Friday April 19, a 43-year-old woman was on School Lane, Quinze Cantons, Vacoas when she was mowed down by a motorcycle. Seriously injured, the forty-something woman was thrown onto the asphalt.

The driver of the motorcycle was forced to take off in order to escape. The injured woman was taken to hospital by her husband. According to the National Land Transport Authority database, the two-wheelers involved in this accident are owned by a resident of Hollyrood, Vacoas.

On Friday April 19, at around 2.15pm, a 49-year-old motorcyclist was riding on Palmerstone Road, Phoenix, when he was involved in an accident with a van.

The motorcyclist, a resident of Route Tout Court, Highlands, was taken to Candos Hospital by volunteers. After receiving treatment, he was admitted to the ward.

His condition is considered serious. A breathalyzer test on the 48-year-old van driver, who lives in Angrais Cathan, Eau-CouleĢe, and on the motorcyclist was negative.
