Africa-Press – Mauritius. Nigeria’s U-17 female football team, the Flamingos will battle either Central Africa Republic, CAR or Mauritius in the second round. of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup The 2022 World Cup bronze winners got a bye in the first leg and will only be involved in the qualifiers in February next year.

In the draw released by the Confederation of Africa Football, CAF on Thursday at its headquarters in Cairo the first round pits the Central African Republic against Mauritius in September. The winning team of the clash will play against Nigeria in the second round in February

Other fixtures paired Morocco and Burkina Faso, while Uganda versus Cameroon as well as Burundi against Botswana are also expected to dish up some exciting youth women’s football in the next few months. In the second round, matches are expected to take place between 2 – 4 February, with the return fixtures set for 9 – 11 February 2024.

Looking at the third round of qualifiers, the winner between Zambia and Tanzania will face off against whoever emerges at the top between Cameroon and Uganda while that of Niger and Morocco takes on the winners of the clash between Algeria and Benin.

The third round of qualifiers will be played between 10-12 May 10 with the return legs being pencilled for 17–19 May 2024. The final round officially takes place between 7 – 9 June for the first legs before the official decider of the three nations that will represent Africa takes place between 14 – 16 June.
