Africa-Press – Mauritius. Véronique Leu-Govind has been appointed President of the New Democrats. Zapheer Futloo becomes General Secretary, Julien Permal Spokesman and PRO, Ayushi Balluck Administrative Secretary, Yannick Cornet Communications Officer and Yaasir Surfooddun Treasurer.
In the meantime, and for the needs of the party as stipulated in the New Democrats’ press release, on Thursday September 12, the committee of founding members of the party unanimously approved the appointment of Véronique Leu-Govind. The party’s structures and the drafting of a constitution for the party will be presented and endorsed at a national convention of the New Democrats to be held in mid-January 2025.
