Winners of ‘Zenes Montre To Talan(Depi Lakaz)’ 2021 proclaimed

Africa-Press – Mauritius. The winners of the competition ‘Zenes Montre To Talan(Depi Lakaz)’ 2021, an initiative of the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, were proclaimed this evening.

The finals of the competition were held today at the Philippe Oh San, Police Auditorium, in Vacoas, in presence of the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports and Recreation, Mr.

Stephan Toussaint. The winner in the Individual Category is Ms. Sarah Thevenau, whilst the winner in the Group Category is Nula Groove Group. Both winners each won a cheque of Rs 50, 000 and a trophy worth Rs 20,000.

In his address on the occasion, the Sports Minister congratulated all the fourteen finalists whom he said are all winners for having been selected among the 326 contestants.

He said that the competition enabled the participants to reveal their talents and encouraged all youngsters to showcase their talents and skills in every field including sports, artistic, academic and culinary.

Mr. Stephan Toussaint expressed gratitude to the Mauritius Police Force for its collaboration with the Ministry to help organise the finals of the competition as well as for the participation of the Police Band. He also lauded the work of the jury panel for its tedious task of choosing the winners.

In addition, Minister Stephan Toussaint announced the coming up of the fourth edition of the competition, that is ‘Zenes Montre To Talan’ 2022, and emphasised that the Ministry has planned other major projects for this year.

He urged all youngsters to stay connected to the Facebook page of the Ministry so as to remain updated as regards the activities being organised. The first runner-up in the Individual Category is Ms.

Triaksha Goodoory and Buruth Family Crew in the Group category. Each winner received a cheque of Rs 40,000 and a trophy worth Rs 20,000. The second runner-up in the Individual Category is Mr.

Samuel Crouch and Sa-Rai Group in the Group Category. Each winner was remitted a trophy worth Rs 20,000 and a cheque of Rs 30,000. All fourteen finalists were offered a souvenir shield.
