Xavier-Luc Duval Criticizes Rs 5.5 Million Payment

Africa-Press – Mauritius. PMSD leader Xavier-Luc Duval reacted sharply to the Rs 5.5 million payment made to Rama Sithanen after his departure as Governor of the Bank of Mauritius. He bluntly stated, “Either the funds are empty for everyone, or they are not.”

Yesterday, Xavier Duval was at Saint-Jean Cemetery in Quatre-Bornes, paying tribute to his father, Sir Gaëtan Duval, on the occasion of his 95th birth anniversary. He expressed that citizens have already made their choices in the recent elections, and that verdict should be respected. However, he noted a growing gap between the government’s priorities and the real expectations of the population, emphasizing that “people have to find their own situation.”

He also mentioned that MP Adrien Duval will raise a parliamentary question on this matter during the session on Tuesday, October 14.

Additionally, a conference titled “Sir Gaëtan Duval, Citizen of the World” will be held on Saturday, October 11, at 4 p.m. at the Port-Louis City Hall. The event will pay tribute to the political and human legacy of the former minister, highlighting his national and international role.
