The district of Molumbo, Administrative Post of Corromana, in Zambézia, is experiencing chaos following the riot raised by the population that contests the ban on the Malawian currency (Kwacha) in the national territory, reads a report posted at Diário da Zambézia Facebook page.
As a result, the House of the Chief of the Administrative Post of Corromana and his (personal) vehicle, were vandalised by the population, as may be seen in the amateur video that the Diário da Zambézia had access to.
The Border Guard Police were forced to intervene, but to no avail, because the fury of the population did not give in, adds the report.
So far, DZ has no reports of deaths or injuries, but we are keeping an eye out and will be able to update at any time.
