Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Integrated Development Agency of the North (ADIN) will provide agricultural inputs to 350,000 Mozambicans affected by the insurgency.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Celso Correia launched the initiative with the delivery of kits to 950 internally displaced families in Marrocane, Ancuabe district.

The delivery, consisting of agricultural kits comprising seeds and implements, within the scope of ADIN actions in the part of the country affected by the insurgency, took place on Friday, October 28, as part of multi-faceted assistance to family agriculture.

Minister Correia said on the occasion that local residents as well as those in the IDP camp would receive the kits.

The minister urged those present to follow advice regarding the new seed from the local extensionists, recently reinforced by SUSTENTA, because it was different to the usual variety.

This action results from government investment of around US$35 million, financed by the World Bank, within the scope of the Multiform Assistance Plan in Northern Mozambique.
