Africa-Press – Mozambique. The Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Fredson Bacar, visited the Mozambique Pavilion at the Expo 2020 Dubai from the 26th to the 28th of October.

During his stay in Dubai, Deputy Minister Bacar consulted with the Ambassador of Mozambique to the United Arab Emirates, Tiago Castigo, and the Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Dubai (COGEDU), to assess the first 30 days of Mozambique’s participation in the event and discuss prospects for the following months.

Afterwards, he met the United Arab Emirates officials responsible for the Assisted Countries at Expo 2020 Dubai, Mrs. Raquel Monja and Mr. André Dourado from the Organization of Expo 2020 Dubai.

The visit extended to the pavilions of South Africa, Angola, Mauritius, Namibia and Rwanda where he exchanged views at different levels.

Deputy Minister Bacar was accompanied on his trip by advisor to the Minister of Culture and Tourism, Cândido Zaqueu Namburete.

Since October 1, 2021, Mozambique has participated in Expo 2020 Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, under the theme, “Sustainable Management of Nature, the Best Legacy for Future Generations”. The Mozambican presence is based on the country’s four priority development pillars, namely, infrastructure, agriculture, energy and tourism.

Expo 2020 Dubai is the World’s largest exhibition, and will bring together more than 190 countries for 182 days of exchanging experiences, innovation, creativity, entertainment and much more. The central theme for the present edition of Expo 2020 Dubai is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”.
