Africa-Press – Mozambique. Yesterday morning, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional and scientific cooperation, Captain David Veríssimo, the medical officer in charge of the European Union Military Assistance Mission in Mozambique (EUMAM MOZ), participated in a lecture dedicated to healthcare challenges, focusing on the evolution of certain diet-related diseases and their development in Mozambique, at Maputo Central Hospital.

Before an audience of professionals from Maputo Central Hospital working in various healthcare fields, the EUMAM MOZ military officer, who specializes in endocrinology, gave a presentation in the hospital’s auditorium on the impact that the rise in diet-related diseases, such as obesity, can have on society.

He also discussed ways to combat these types of problems and how healthcare professionals can help Mozambicans in their daily lives. Finally, he answered questions from the lecture attendees, providing further insight into the challenges facing the local community.

This lecture follows the recognition between EUMAM MOZ and the Maputo Central Hospital on the development of joint approaches to improve healthcare delivery, constituting a clear example of how international partnerships contribute to creating good synergies for the benefit of Mozambique.
