Africa-Press – Mozambique. At least 70 children admitted to the Paediatrics Department of the Matola Provincial Hospital (MPH) celebrated a Solidarity Christmas yesterday, in an atmosphere of fellowship, recreation, and sharing.
The children are undergoing treatment for various conditions, including malaria, diarrhoea, and respiratory diseases.
The initiative was organised by Moza Banco as part of its corporate social responsibility programme. In addition to a snack, the institution provided the children with toys and food items, bringing moments of joy and comfort during their hospital stay.
Speaking at the event, Jaime Joaquim, Executive Member of the Moza Group, stated that the initiative represents a gesture of love toward children—whom he described as the future of the nation and key agents of its development.
For her part, MPH Director Ana Rodrigues emphasised that the initiative goes far beyond the distribution of gifts, symbolising closeness, empathy, and a shared commitment to the well-being of the community. She further underscored the importance of partnerships between health institutions and the private sector in fostering a more just and compassionate society.
